DIGITAL FIRST Dialogue Club in Portugal: Reflecting on Informatics Education

The DIGITAL FIRST partner CFAE-PVVC organised a Dialogue Club on 10 February 2025 bringing together teachers from various disciplinary fields, including informatics teachers, representatives of NGOs, teacher trainers, digital ambassadors, and representatives of regional education institutions.

During the session, participants discussed how digital technologies influence personal expression and the transmission of information. Topics addressed included the role of digital platforms in communicating emotions and identity, as well as the use of technology to organize and share knowledge.

The Dialogue Clubs are an essential component of our project, providing a space for sharing and co-creating new pedagogical approaches. The goal is to strengthen the competencies of informatics teachers and develop innovative methodologies for teaching informatics topics. The outcomes of the discussions will contribute to the development of recommendations and educational materials within the project, supporting improvements in teacher training and curriculum adaptation to the demands of emerging technologies.

With society’s increasing digitalization, such initiatives are fundamental to ensuring that teachers are prepared to integrate effective pedagogical approaches aligned with students’ needs. DIGITAL FIRST thus reinforces its commitment to innovation in informatics education, fostering sustainable dialogue among key stakeholders in the educational sector.
